All your GTD Next Actions belong to Word

Flexiblefine has posted his dead simple method to organise his Next Actions lists:

I don't recreate my list every day, I just update it. My Word document is two pages of two columns, printed front-and-back on one sheet of paper. The "front" side has my contexts labeled Work Compuer, Work Office, E-mails, Calls, and Waiting For, plus an agenda for my boss. The "back" side has Home, Online, Errands, Read/Review, Anywhere, an agenda for my wife, and an agenda for a work committee that never meets.

I cross items off as they get done during the day, and update the list during my morning processing session. This way I have a clean, legible list to work from each day.

No need to save your PowerPoint presentation as a show

Lifehacker shares this Office productivity tips:

Most people save them as a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT). A PPT shows the slides and the work that can be done on the presentation. By saving as a PPS (PowerPoint Show), when you double-click it, it will auto launch into the show mode.

However, you don't need to save your presentation as a PowerPoint Show (thus creating another file), just rename the file from ".ppt" to ".pps" and presto! it is a Show. The only difference between a Presentation and a Show is the different filename suffixes. Also, if someone hands you a .pps file, just rename it to .ppt and you can open and edit it normally.

Google Browser Sync

There have been many times when I wish I could take my open webpages with me to work or home to continue reading. The best solution would be something that sychronizies my open tabs between home and work PC. Well, today Google Labs came to the rescue with Google Browser Sync. It not only sychronizes open tabs (thus making SessionSaver obsolete) but also bookmarks, history, persistent cookies, and saved passwords.

I tried it and it works fine. For those of you who are paranoid of having your encoded passwords floating around on the internet, you can turn that feature off.
